Nitrox refers to any gas mixture composing (excluding trace gases) of nitrogen and oxygen. This includes the normal air that we breathe which is approximately 78% nitrogen and 21% Oxygen, with around 1% other gases. The most common use of Nitrox mixtures containing higher than normal levels of oxygen is in scuba diving, where the reduced percentage of nitrogen is advantageous in reducing nitrogen loadings in the body's tissues. This extends the possible dive time and reducing the risk of decompression sickness.
Our nitrox course takes two days and lets divers safely extend normal no decompression limits allowing them to stay longer at a given depth, reduces surface intervals, nitogen uptake and gives quicker off gassing.
Course includes:
Easy to follow and remember, PADI modular academics and cylinder analyse
The two most commonly used mixtures are EANx32 and EANx36 with 32% and 36% oxygen concentration, compared to 21% in normal air.
Based on single dive
AIR x 21% at 20 metres allows you 45 minutes diving.
EANx 32% at 20 metres allows you 75 minutes diving.
EANx 36% at 20 metres allows you 95 minutes diving.
Prerequisits:
Open water diver and minimum age of 15.
What’s included: Two open water dives, hotel transfers, all dive equipment rental and certification card.
What’s not included: PADI Nitrox diving manual (available at dive centre.)
What to bring: Towel, swim gear, sun lotion and four passport photo’s.
